ShoreTrack: rewriting the script for young Australians
ShoreTrack works with a simple idea: put young people at the centre of decisions on what they want to do in life, and let their passion and engagement grow from there.
Since 2020, ShoreTrack has been filling a gap in services on the NSW Mid North Coast, providing skills and training for young people at risk of or already disengaging from high school - helping them re-engage in learning and find employment pathways.
In 2024 ShoreTrack created a jobs-focused social enterprise to make this work financially sustainable while providing a real-work environment for learning.
ShoreTrack STeps delivers services ranging from lawn maintenance to fencing and metal fabrication, giving young people opportunity to build skills and connections in a supported environment. Profits go to paying their wages and providing training and wraparound support.
ShoreTrack STeps has recently become a Member of Social Enterprise Australia.
”We joined Social Enterprise Australia to build connections with like-minded organisations so we can learn from the experiences of others, build our capacity and create enterprise opportunities to help more young people,” says ShoreTrack Co-founder and CEO Jill Ashley.
